Faith Based Initiatives

In your spiritual or religious community, you have the opportunity to make a profound impact on donation!  While many charitable acts entail financial donations or a great deal of effort, organ, eye, and tissue donation offers the opportunity to express our highest humanitarian ideals- a decision that takes only love.

We need your help to make certain your congregation is aware that donation is supported by your spiritual beliefs. We each have the power to save lives by documenting our wishes on the Donor Registry.

Participation may be customized for your congregation and a variety of options, including: dedicating a short segment of your worship service to a heart-warming in-person story of an individual touched by donation, a 3-minute video, sacred text reference, bulletin insert and/or dissemination of registry brochures.

If you are interested in scheduling a date to share a life-saving message of hope with your congregation or if you would like to request available resources, please contact Nicki Carrillo, Diversity Program Manager, at 425-201-6611 or NICKIC@LCNW.ORG

Additional Ideas for Participation

  • Lead prayer to remember those families who suffered the loss of death yet donated organs, eyes, and tissues.  Include the men, women and children who desperately wait for organs and tissues to save or improve their lives.
  • Hold a registry drive to encourage your congregation to learn more about their choice to register as an organ, eye and tissue donor.
  • Host a health educational program or workshop at your place of worship – invite the community.
  • Host sessions for ministries using a video to create dialogue and educate.
  • Partner with Donate Life Today year round by serving as a center for accurate information about organ, eye and tissue donation.
